Fika Bakery & Catering was founded by Vanessa Berthier, an international business executive and culinary entrepreneur whose passion for Scandinavian food culture has taken her across continents.
Vanessa lived in Sweden for more than seven years while accompanying her husband on a diplomatic mission, raising their two children and fully immersing herself in local traditions. She learned authentic Swedish baking from neighborhood bakeries, local courses, family recipes from friends, and her own intuition and entrepreneurial drive. It was there she fell in love with fika—a daily ritual of pause, connection, and simple pleasure that now inspires everything she does.
Before bringing fika to Texas, Vanessa built her reputation in Mexico City as founder of Lingon Catering & Bakery, serving as personal chef to the Swedish Embassy and delivering events for clients such as Warner Bros, Netflix, and Disney with guest lists of up to 400 people.
Her background in international business, global supplier relationships, and digital marketing gives Fika Bakery & Catering a rare combination of culinary excellence and operational expertise.
